AP ECET Seat Allotment 2026: Time, direct link and how to check your allocation in 5 steps
The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education released AP ECET 2026 Phase 1 seat allotment results on July 28. Approximately 55,960 seats are available across 240 colleges and 49 courses. Candidates can check their allotted college and bran...

For anyone who's lost track amid the back-and-forth, here's a quick recap: the result was first expected on July 20, got pushed to July 24, slipped again to July 27, and finally landed a day later than even that. Not unusual for a state-run counselling process handling this many candidates, but it's understandably tested the patience of thousands of diploma holders and B.Sc (Maths) graduates hoping to step into the second year of B.Tech, B.E., or B.Pharmacy programmes through lateral entry.

AP ECET Seat Allotment 2026
Roughly 55,960 seats are up for grabs across around 240 engineering and pharmacy colleges in Andhra Pradesh, spread over 49 different courses. Of the 32,434 candidates who appeared for the AP ECET exam this year, 29,750 are likely to get the seats, meaning the vast majority of those who wrote the test are now in the running for a seat, provided they registered for counselling and exercised their choices during the option-entry window that ran earlier this month. How to check your AP ECET seat allotment in 5 steps
Step 1: Open the CAP portal. Go to cap.apcfss.in on your browser. Chrome or Firefox tends to handle the traffic better than in-app browsers, especially on a day like this when lakhs of candidates are hitting the site at once.Step 2: Click on Candidate Login. You'll find this option right on the homepage. Don't go hunting for a separate "seat allotment" tab before logging in — everything sits behind your candidate dashboard.
Step 3: Enter your credentials. You'll need your Hall Ticket Number or Application Number, along with the password you set during registration (your date of birth works as a backup in some cases). Fill in the captcha and hit submit.
Step 4: Head to the seat allotment section. Once you're in, look for the seat allotment tab on your dashboard. Your allotted college, branch, and category status will be displayed right there — no need to dig through menus.
Step 5: Download and save the allotment order. This is the step people rush and regret later. Download the provisional allotment order as a PDF and print at least two copies — one for online self-reporting, another to carry physically to your allotted college. Servers tend to slow down under heavy load, so don't wait till the last minute to grab your copy.
Here's what happens next after AP ECET Seat Allotment 2026
Getting the allotment is only half the job. Every candidate now has to pick one of three options on the portal before the deadline:Freeze — you're happy with the seat and want to lock it in for good, no more changes.
Slide — you like the college, just not the branch, so you stay put at the same institute while hoping for an upgrade there.
Whichever you choose, there's a processing fee involved — ₹1,200 for OC and BC candidates, ₹600 for SC/ST candidates. Pay it, then don't stop there. The portal itself will tell you this, but it bears repeating: completing self-reporting online does not secure your seat by itself. You still need to show up in person at your allotted college with your original certificates, category documents, and the printed allotment order to finish the admission process. Skip that physical step and the seat can simply go to someone else.
Given how many times this result got delayed, expect the college-reporting window to be announced soon and to move fast once it's out. Keep an eye on cap.apcfss.in over the next few days rather than assuming there's plenty of time — this counselling cycle has already shown it can shift its own deadlines with little notice.
