Amrita Rao and husband RJ Anmol’s Mumbai home features soft pink interiors, bold pink entrance door, mirror-panelled walls, Audrey Hepburn artwork and a priceless MF Husain painting inspired by Rao’s iconic film Vivah

Amrita Rao and her husband, RJ Anmol had given a glimpse of their charming Mumbai home through an episode of Farah Khan’s vlog. The couple’s residence stands out for its soft pink palette, cosy corners and carefully coordinated interiors, giving the space a warm and Instagram-worthy feel.

One of the most striking elements of the home, however, is a priceless MF Husain painting that holds a special connection to Rao and her film Vivah.

A pink welcome at the entrance

During Farah Khan and Dilip’s virtual tour of the couple’s home, their fondness for the colour pink was evident from the very entrance. A bold pink door sets the tone for the interiors, while neutral-coloured walls create a balance within the space.

The living area features a peach-toned sofa, adding warmth to the room while complementing the overall colour scheme. A large Audrey Hepburn painting inspired by Breakfast at Tiffany’s and mirror-panelled walls add another layer to the decor.

From the furniture to the artwork, the interiors appear carefully coordinated, with different shades working together to create a cohesive aesthetic.

The MF Husain painting that stands out

Among the home's many decorative elements, an original MF Husain painting remains the biggest talking point. According to Amrita, the renowned artist created the artwork with inspiration from her 2006 film Vivah.

The painting also has a personal story attached to it. Reports had previously suggested that Husain drew inspiration from Rao for a series of paintings. During the vlog, the actress recalled that the celebrated artist had invited her and her mother to Dubai to paint her live.

Rao said Husain was curious to know whether the person she was in real life matched the on-screen persona he had seen in Vivah. She also revealed that she received the painter’s signature paintbrush.

With its pink interiors, carefully chosen artwork, warm corners and a piece of art by one of India's most celebrated painters, Rao and Anmol’s home combines personal memories with an understated celebrity-home aesthetic.

Amrita made her Bollywood debut back in 2002 with the movie 'Ab Ke Baras'. She rose to fame with 'Ishq Vishk' in 2003, in which she was seen alongside Shahid Kapoor. Cementing her quintessential 'girl‑next‑door' image, Amrita is also known for her performances in 'Main Hoon Na (2004)', and Vivah (2006), along with others. Amrita was last seen in the legal drama 'Jolly LLB 3', led by Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi.
