40-year-old Bengaluru man kills 2 minor daughters at 5-star hotel, then attempts suicide: What does the note found in his room reveal?

A 40-year-old Bengaluru man allegedly killed his two minor daughters and attempted to take his own life inside a fourth-floor room at a five-star hotel near Kempegowda International Airport on Monday, the Times of India reported, citing police.

The two girls, aged five and ten, were found dead inside the room. Their father, a manager with a private cab company and a resident of Bilalnagar in north Bengaluru, was found near the sofa with a cut to his throat and taken to a private hospital, where he remains under treatment.

What happened inside the Bengaluru hotel room?


According to the Times of India, the father checked into the hotel at around 7.30 pm on Sunday. Hotel staff told police he said he was expecting a guest from Dubai after midnight.

He did not check out the following afternoon. Housekeeping staff knocked on his door at around 12.30 pm with no response, and returned at 4.30 pm to the same result.

At around 5.30 pm, the hotel manager opened the room with a duplicate key. The two children were found lying dead near the bed. The father was found near the sofa, unconscious, with his throat slit. All three were rushed to a nearby private hospital, where doctors declared the two girls dead on arrival.

What did the note found in the room say?

A note recovered from the hotel room is suspected to have been written by the father, police said. It referred to a marital dispute and accused his wife of having an extramarital affair.

As reported by the Times of India, the note read: "I am fed up with life due to the extra-marital affair of my wife. I have evidence to prove her affair. She has hurt me. I am taking my daughters with me."

What are Bengaluru police investigating?

The hotel's security manager informed police about the incident in the evening, Mithun Kumar GK, deputy commissioner of police, north-east division, told the Times of India.

Police said the father allegedly strangled the two girls before attempting suicide. They are examining the note, other evidence recovered from the room, and the circumstances surrounding the alleged marital dispute mentioned in it. The investigation is ongoing.
