'Won't accept culture that sweeps misconduct’: Gov. Mikie Sherrill announces Caldwell’s resignation

New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill (D) gave Lt. Gov. Dale Caldwell (D) until Friday to resign following an ethics report that found he had violated state policy prohibiting workplace discrimination. Investigators from a law firm hired by Sherrill’s office found that Caldwell twice sought to have his girlfriend promoted to a state position, made a sexually charged comment to a staff member and failed to heed warnings to change his behaviour.
