US Marine F-35B crashes near San Diego base; pilot safely ejected, recovered
A Marine Corps F-35B aircraft crashed near the runway of Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego, California, on Friday (July 31) in what a military spokesperson described as a "mishap." "The pilot ejected and has been recovered," the spokesperson said, without elaborating or disclosing the condition of the pilot.
