'Legalized money laundering in Medicaid!': Witness drops shocker, alleges states exploit fed funds
The U.S. Senate Committee on the Budget, chaired by Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI), held a hearing titled 'Medicaid: The Reality,' examining the future of Medicaid, federal spending, program integrity, waste, fraud, and the impact of current funding policies. During the hearing, Brian Blase, President of the Paragon Health Institute, argued that some states and healthcare providers use financing arrangements to artificially increase federal Medicaid matching funds.
