In Poland, city folk are becoming cheesemakers

With the coronavirus inducing large scale shutdowns across the globe, people in various countries are stuck at home, finding new hobbies and skills during their enforced homestay.

The urban population of Poland has taken to the Masuria region of the country, and are making cheese during the pandemic.

Most of the new cheese makers are former city dwelling people, who leave behind lucrative jobs to pursue a lifestyle of artisanal cheese making in 'search of silence, greenery and a different lifestyle,' reports AFP.

And it’s not just cheese, a couple in the region also have expanded into the dairy business, milking Jersey cows and sheep (whose milk they use for cheese).

Poland's artisanal cheese makers are very happy too, because they have no trouble selling their dairy close to home, without ever getting into the European market.
