'America's Got Talent' reveals Season 21 winner - Check who won the $1 million mega prize and the final top-5 ranking

America’s Got Talent has finally crowned its Season 21 champion after months of tantalizing wait, weeks of auditions, emotional performances and fierce competition. Host Terry Crews revealed the winner during Wednesday night’s star-studded finale. Nene Royal, 16-year-old singer and guitarist, claimed the coveted title and $1 million grand prize, after receiving the most votes from viewers.


The contestant from Phuket, Thailand, managed to narrowly beat magician Geno Ploeger for the first position, with magic act Hundred Fingers rounding up the three contestants in the final. Royal had proved to be an outstanding performer in the season as she managed to impress judges and the audience with her rock performances. The winning contestant marked the end of an exciting season, following an intense process that reduced hundreds of contestants down to five acts.

WHO WON 'AMERICA'S GOT TALENT' SEASON 21?

Nene Royal was officially named the Season 21 winner during the September 23 finale. The young singer, whose real name is Rattikarn Amloy, had previously earned Mel B’s Live Golden Buzzer during the quarterfinals, which sent her directly to the finale. Royal entered the final after performances that showcased her distinctive rock style. For her last competitive performance, she delivered her own take on The White Stripes’ 'Seven Nation Army'.

'AGT' SEASON 21 FINAL TOP-5 RANKING

The finale began with five acts still in contention for the championship. Veronika Goroshkova finished fifth, followed by Royal Lasers in fourth place. Hundred Fingers claimed third, leaving Ploeger and Royal as the final two contestants awaiting the result with bated breaths. Crews ultimately put an end to the drama as he announced Royal as the winner, with Ploeger finishing runner-up.

A STAR-STUDDED FINALE ENDS SEASON 21

The star-studded evening was not only about the winner as it also featured great performances from Josh Groban, Linkin Park, Steve Aoki, REI AMI and Chloe Flower, along with returning AGT personalities.

For Royal, however, the evening marked the biggest moment of her AGT journey. The teenager arrived on the show as a relatively unknown performer and left as its newest champion. Her victory earned her the $1 million prize and placed her alongside the long list of performers who have used the America’s Got Talent stage to introduce themselves to a massive US audience.
