Jennifer Eckhart’s suicide case takes a chilling turn after mother found her body in bathtub with knife nearby and serious injuries

Jennifer Eckhart, who previously worked at Fox News for seven years, has died by suicide, at the age of 36. Jennifer Eckhart's mother found her dead body at her Florida residence, with a small knife positioned in close proximity, the law enforcement officials said, according to a report in The Hindustan Times. Local media reports have hinted that the former Fox News producer was discovered dead in her bathtub with a folding pocketknife by her own mother. The lacerations on her throat and neck caused serious injuries, which the police believe could have led to her death.

According to reports, Jennifer Eckhart died in the master bathroom with the small knife placed right beside her as responding officers observed serious lacerations on her body. Jennifer Eckhart's mother immediately informed the Medical Examiner's Office while investigators responded to the scene. The Sheriff's Office later confirmed that the death was a suicide after failing to find any physical evidence at her house.

Knife found near Jennifer Eckhart's body

A report published in TMZ suggests that Jennifer Eckhart's mother contacted authorities after arriving at her daughter's home on Saturday and finding her dead inside the bathtub in the master bathroom. The authorities found a folding pocketknife placed near Jennifer Eckhart and observed serious injuries from lacerations. Crime scene investigators and the Medical Examiner's Office were then called to the home. Deputies responded shortly before noon, and a Martin County Fire Rescue paramedic pronounced Eckhart dead at 11:57 AM.

The law enforcement sources told us Eckhart's death has been ruled a suicide.

Jennifer Eckhart accused Ed Henry of rape in 2020

According to a lawsuit filed in 2020, Jennifer Eckhart used to work as an associate producer at Fox Business and in the same year, she accused former Fox News anchor Ed Henry of rape. The lawsuit states that Ed Henry sexually assaulted Jennifer Eckhart while they both worked at the network and later said she had been "paralyzed by fear" while working there. She claimed she was “violently raped” and left “injured, bruised and battered with bloody wrists” by him.

She also alleged that Henry asked her to be his “sex slave,” “threatened punishment and retaliation if [Eckhart] didn’t comply with his sexual demands,” and “took photos” of her “for purposes of blackmail that could destroy her career.”

Henry denied the allegations and maintained their relationship was consensual. Fox News fired Henry in July 2020 after receiving Eckhart's complaint and conducting an outside investigation.

Jennifer Eckhart's nonprofit work

Jennifer Eckhart also began a nonprofit, The Reinvented Project, which helps trauma survivors through animal-assisted therapy, and she started a podcast, REINVENTED with Jen Eckhart, to “give a voice to the voiceless.” The podcast previously featured interviews with guests like Billy Corgan, who spoke about “generational trauma.”

“I turned pain into purpose,” Eckhart said. “I think the overarching theme, as far as this case not going to trial, is that survivors do not require validation from a courtroom to emerge stronger than what tries to break them.”

Her final Instagram post was shared on June 1. “Haven’t posted since the last time gas was under $4. What a time to be alive,” she wrote under a photo of herself in Florida. “Glad to be sharing this weird little corner of the Internet again. Working on some exciting stuff that I can’t wait to share with you all!”
