Saudi Aramco delays Jazan oil refinery restart to August 30, IIR note shows

LONDON: Saudi Aramco has delayed the tentative restart of its 400,000-barrel-per-day Jazan ‌oil refinery ⁠by about ⁠two weeks, to August 30, according to an alert from industry monitor IIR seen by Reuters.

Yemen's Houthi militants said on ​Sunday they ⁠had attacked the ‌refinery, which has ​been ​shut since July ⁠27 following a previous Houthi attack, according ​to an earlier IIR ​alert seen by Reuters.

Saudi Aramco did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Saudi Arabia's energy ministry ‌said on Sunday that Aramco's industrial firefighting teams had extinguished a ⁠fire that broke out early that day at a facility belonging to the refinery.

It did not provide any further information about the plant's operations.
