About 170,000 pounds of raw pork, beef and goat meat recalled in US: Reason, affected batches and what to do if you have any

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has announced the recall of approximately 167,639 pounds of raw pork, beef and goat meat products. The USDA said the products were produced without federal inspection and packaged with a fraudulent USDA inspection mark.

Star Meat Delivery Inc., based in Lucama, North Carolina, is recalling the meat products, which were distributed in bulk to a Georgia distributor for sale at retail stores and restaurants across the country.

The USDA has classified the recall as Class I, the most serious category, indicating that the products could pose a serious risk to consumers. The agency said the products may be misbranded and unsafe for consumption.


The USDA has urged consumers not to consume products bearing the establishment number “EST. 1363.”

The recall affects a variety of meat products, including raw ground pork, chorizo, pork chops, pork ribs and beef cuts, along with goat meat products sold under the A&D Foods label.

The products may have been repackaged by retailers and could feature store-applied stickers instead of the original product labels, making it difficult for consumers to identify the recalled items.

The USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) said, “Food produced without inspection may contain undeclared allergens, harmful bacteria, or other contaminants that put consumer health and safety at risk.”

“Any product bearing the false establishment number ‘EST. 1363’ should be considered misbranded and unsafe to eat,” the agency added.

The FSIS said the recalled products were vacuum-sealed in cardboard boxes and produced on various dates leading up to September 22, 2026.

The USDA is continuing to review the products and may add additional items to the recall list if necessary.

So far, there have been no confirmed reports of illnesses or injuries linked to consumption of the recalled meat. However, the USDA has warned that meat produced without the required inspection could contain harmful bacteria, undeclared allergens or other contaminants.

Consumers, retailers and restaurants are advised to discard the identified products or return them to the place of purchase.
