During a discussion with Cory Levy, founder of Z Fellows, Altman said that within the next six months, a descendant of ChatGPT could watch computer screens, record meetings and calls, and maintain “perfect context” of a user's entire life.
Altman described a user-controlled system that could integrate with texts, emails, documents and Slack to act as a proactive assistant, suggesting ideas or flagging potential issues. He said such a system could be just one model generation away from becoming highly useful.
ChatGPT is one of the most widely used artificial intelligence tools in the world. According to reports, ChatGPT has approximately 1 billion monthly active users and around 900 million weekly active users globally.
The video of Altman's comments has since gone viral, garnering close to 7 million views.
"I do NOT CONSENT TO THIS!!Stop!," wrote another.
Another user quipped, "right cause who needs actual human interaction and real coworkers when you can have a government funded spy looking at everything youre doing on your computer. future’s looking bright!"
Just days ago, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg also laid out the company's vision of putting superintelligent AI in the hands of everyone. Meanwhile, in a first-of-its-kind incident, Taiwan detected AI-assisted cyberattacks on government agencies that originated overseas last month. As per reports, attackers used open-source AI agents to build an autonomous hacking tool that behaved like a coordinated cyber team. The company described it as a first-of-a-kind breach.
