"Lord of Light" is one of several events featured in August's "History and Visions" campaign.
Warner Bros. Games will launch a new limited-time in-game event, "Lord of Light," in Game of Thrones: Conquest on August 7, 2026. The event will run until August 9, challenging players to battle rival kingdoms and earn exclusive rewards as part of the game's August campaign.

The event is included in the game's latest monthly story arc, "History and Visions," which takes inspiration from iconic moments, locations, and characters from the Game of Thrones universe.

What is the 'Lord of Light' event?

The new event is inspired by R'hllor, also known as the Lord of Light, one of the most mysterious religions in George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series and HBO's Game of Thrones.

While Warner Bros. Games has not revealed any unique gameplay mechanics for the event, its theme draws directly from the faith that played a major role in the battle against the White Walkers. Followers of R'hllor, including Melisandre and Thoros of Myr, were shown performing extraordinary feats such as repeatedly resurrecting Beric Dondarrion and bringing Jon Snow back to life. The religion's prophecies surrounding Azor Ahai and the fight against the Long Night remain among the franchise's biggest mysteries, with George R.R. Martin intentionally leaving many questions unanswered.

Part of the 'History and Visions' monthly campaign
"Lord of Light" is one of several events featured in August's "History and Visions" campaign. The monthly arcs are designed to revisit memorable storylines from the Game of Thrones franchise through a mix of PvP battles, PvE challenges, Flashback crafting events, and power-up activities.

Players who participate throughout the monthly campaign can earn exclusive gear, dragon equipment, crafting materials, and other progression rewards before the storyline concludes and the next campaign begins.

The new event joins other competitive activities scheduled for August, including Test Your Mettle, The Climb, and War for the Throne.

About Game of Thrones: Conquest
Game of Thrones: Conquest is a free-to-play 4X mobile strategy game developed by Turbine and Warner Bros. Games, and published by Warner Bros. Games. Released on October 19, 2017, the game is set in HBO's Game of Thrones universe, where players build and upgrade keeps, raise dragons, train armies, forge alliances, and battle rival kingdoms for control of Westeros.

The title has received regular content updates for nearly a decade through themed monthly campaigns and seasonal events. Warner Bros. Games has also expanded the franchise's mobile offerings with Game of Thrones: Dragonfire, based on House of the Dragon.

Although recent franchise projects have focused largely on Targaryen history and dragons, the "Lord of Light" event revisits one of the most enigmatic elements of Game of Thrones lore, giving players a chance to engage with the mythology surrounding R'hllor while competing for limited-time rewards.
