Ariana Grande drops out of London musical, plans break from public appearances

Despite speculation online, representatives stressed that Grande continues to perform demanding, physically intensive concerts successfully and remains committed to finishing the remaining tour dates in good health.

London musical to continue without the singer

Grande had been announced as part of the 2027 London revival of Sunday in the Park with George, where she was set to reunite with her Wicked co-star Jonathan Bailey.

Following the announcement of her break, the production company confirmed she has withdrawn from the project.

Producers expressed full support for her decision, saying they understood it could not have been an easy choice and wished her the very best.

The Barbican Centre, where the musical is scheduled to open in summer 2027, also backed Grande's decision. The venue said preparations for the production would continue as planned, with Jonathan Bailey remaining attached to the project and additional casting details expected at a later date.
