The token, which would give investors a share of revenue from loans financing the resort, was supposed to go on sale this spring. The offering has been pushed back as the war with Iran disrupts travel, people familiar with the matter said. The Maldives project, being developed by UK-based Dar Global Plc, was meant to be an early showcase for World Liberty's ambitions beyond conventional digital assets. Over the past year, the company co-founded by US President Donald Trump and his sons has discussed tokens tied to everything from real estate and investment funds to oil and gold, people familiar with the matter said.
"Dar Global continues to advance its partnership with the Trump Organization," chief executive officer Ziad El Chaar said. "We consistently evaluate the development and roll-out schedules of our global portfolio to ensure they align with market conditions, regulatory requirements, and our long-term strategic objectives."
