Supreme Court seeks Goa's response on Tarun Tejpal's plea

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday sought the Goa government's response to a plea filed by former Tehelka editor-in-chief Tarun Tejpal challenging a Bombay HC judgment convicting him in a 2013 rape case and sentencing him to 10 years' imprisonment.

A division bench comprising justices MM Sundresh and PB Varale issued notice on Tejpal's appeal against the August 6 judgment, through which the HC reversed his acquittal by the trial court and convicted him of rape.
