Supreme Court moves to assess need for more commercial courts

New Delhi: In a move towards establishing additional commercial courts in states, the Supreme Court on Monday asked the Indian Commercial and Arbitration Bar Association to provide data on the growing trend of commercial litigation in all states, pending commercial cases in each state, the estimate of increased commercial cases, and the requirement of additional commercial courts.

A Bench led by chief justice Suryakant while issuing notices to various state governments on the implementation of the Commercial Courts Act 2015 said that the information may be necessary to issue appropriate directions for setting up additional commercial courts in states.
