Student protests 'genuine', 'a lot needs to be done in India's education': RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat

Mumbai: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Thursday backed the student protests, calling them a reflection of "genuine grievances" and saying that "a lot needs to be done in education system". Defending the protests, Bhagwat said that "in a democracy, a protest is also a kind of dialogue" and added that he would "trust them blindly"."A protest is also a means to form a consensus, A lot of youths come together and a consensus is evolved after discussion, the discussion may happen through dialogue. Due to various reasons if that thing is not heard then it can lead to an agitation. However if you have to do all this, then evolve consensus and not to create divisions. When it comes to GenZ protests, the grievances were genuine. A lot needs to be done in Bharat's Education and it's not happening then talk is happening."said Bhagwat.

Bhagwat was participating in a question answer session with 2,000 students at the India's International Movement to Unite Nations in Mumbai when he made these comments.
