PM Modi to launch Rs 17,900-crore projects in Andhra, inaugurate Vivekananda centre in Mysuru

At around 11 am, Modi will visit the passenger terminal of the newly built Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram in Andhra Pradesh's Vizianagaram district before inaugurating the airport. PM will also lay the foundation stone, inaugurate and dedicate multiple development projects to the nation, and address a public gathering.
Developed under the public-private partnership (PPP) model at a cost of over Rs 5,640 crore, the greenfield airport has an annual passenger handling capacity of six million. The terminal has been designed with modern infrastructure, advanced technology and sustainability features to support future aviation requirements.
Semiconductor, power and highway projects
Among the major projects is the foundation stone for Andhra Pradesh's first semiconductor manufacturing facility, the ASIP Semiconductor Project in Visakhapatnam. The project, being developed by ASIP Technologies Pvt Ltd in partnership with South Korea's APACT with an investment of over Rs 460 crore, has been approved under the India Semiconductor Mission. The facility is expected to manufacture about 96 million semiconductor chips annually and generate skilled employment.

PM will also launch power transmission projects to integrate renewable energy from Kurnool and Ananthapuram, including the Kurnool-IV Renewable Energy Zone Phase-I project and other POWERGRID transmission schemes with a combined investment of nearly Rs 9,900 crore.
In addition, PM will dedicate and lay the foundation stone for National Highway projects worth over Rs 1,880 crore, including sections of NH-365BG, the Tadipatri Bypass on NH-67 and a high-level bridge on NH-565. The projects are expected to improve connectivity, reduce travel time and ease congestion in key urban centres.
Mysuru youth centre
Later in the day, at around 3.30 pm, PM will inaugurate the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Youth Centre, or Viveka Smaraka, at the Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama in Mysuru and address the gathering.

Built at the historic Niranjana Math, the 81,000-sq-ft centre commemorates Swami Vivekananda's visit to Mysuru in 1892. It houses a 4-D experience centre, exhibition hall, amphitheatre, library, meditation and yoga hall, classrooms and facilities for students preparing for competitive examinations.
According to the PMO, the centre aims to promote value-based education, leadership development and personality building. It is expected to benefit more than 10,000 students and young people through lectures, workshops and capacity-building programmes inspired by Swami Vivekananda's ideals.
