Replying to a question in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Health Prataprao Jadhav said that as of July 22, 2026, a total of 44.73 crore Ayushman cards had been generated under AB-PMJAY.

In a written reply, he said that as of June 30, 2026, the scheme had authorised 12.69 crore hospital admissions amounting to Rs 1.92 lakh crore, providing cashless treatment to eligible beneficiaries.
Jadhav said the current National Master Health Benefit Package (HBP-2022) offers cashless healthcare through 1,961 treatment packages across 27 medical specialities.
The packages cover a wide range of secondary and tertiary care services, including treatment for non-communicable diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular diseases, chronic kidney disease, diabetes-related complications, stroke, chronic respiratory diseases, neurological disorders and liver diseases, he said.

The minister said the government is also strengthening the healthcare system through nearly 1.86 lakh Ayushman Arogya Mandirs established across the country, which serve as the first point of contact for citizens and provide a link between primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare.
He added that tertiary healthcare infrastructure has also been significantly expanded through the establishment of new AIIMS and medical colleges to meet the country's growing healthcare needs.
