Minister Deepak Prakash can remain minister after MLC nomination, Bihar government informs SC

New Delhi: Bihar government on Friday told SC that minister Deepak Prakash has been nominated as an MLC and hence he is not barred from continuing as a minister. A bench of CJI Surya Kant and justices Joymalya Bagchi and V Mohana was told by SG Tushar Mehta that Prakash has taken oath as an MLC. SC was hearing a plea seeking to remove Prakash from the post of minister on the ground that he hadn't become a member of either House within six months of his appointment as a minister.
