Lok Sabha Secretariat director Gaurav Gautam found dead at Noida home; 'note' mentioning a loan recovered

A 40-year-old director in the Lok Sabha Secretariat was found dead at his apartment in Noida, with police recovering a purported suicide note that reportedly referred to a loan. Authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The deceased has been identified as Gaurav Gautam, who was found hanging from a ceiling fan at his flat in Kendriya Vihar-II Society in Sector 82 on Sunday.

Wife found him after returning home

According to police, Gautam's wife had gone to her parental home. When she returned, she found the flat locked from inside and became concerned.


With the assistance of a security guard, she entered the apartment and discovered her husband hanging. He was immediately taken to a nearby private hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Police said they were informed about the incident through a memo received from the hospital.

Purported suicide note recovered

A forensic team and local police visited the scene, collected evidence and completed the inquest proceedings. The body was later sent for a post-mortem examination.

During the inspection, police recovered a purported suicide note from the flat. According to officials, the note mentioned a loan. Investigators are examining its contents as part of the ongoing probe.

Investigation underway

Police said further legal proceedings are in progress and the exact circumstances leading to Gautam's death are being investigated.
