While professional headlight restoration kits are widely available, several online automotive guides suggest that an ordinary bar of soap, combined with careful wet sanding and polishing, may help remove oxidation from plastic headlight lenses. Although it is not a permanent repair, the budget-friendly DIY method has gained popularity among car owners looking to improve headlight clarity without spending on commercial restoration kits.

According to reports, the cloudy appearance on headlights is caused by oxidation that develops after years of exposure to sunlight, heat and road debris.
