'Even if someone thinks he's an idiot, he can't say it here': Jitendra Singh's swipe at Rahul Gandhi
A heated exchange broke out in the Lok Sabha during the debate on the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026, after Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi narrated a conversation with an 18-year-old student who, according to him, classified people into students, ‘idiots’, and blind followers. The remark drew immediate objections from BJP MPs and Union Minister Jitendra Singh, who said such language was inappropriate in Parliament. Singh remarked that even if someone considered themselves an ‘idiot’, such expressions could not be used inside the House.
