Air India flight carrying 137 passengers and eight crew members landed safely in Delhi at 5:37 a.m. GMT.

Government officials in India announced on Tuesday that they have begun to conduct an investigation into an Air India Airbus A320neo aircraft which suffered a "momentary altitude variation" in flight. The authorities stated that they have secured the Flight Data Recorder and Cockpit Voice Recorder of the aircraft for the purpose of investigation.

Earlier on Tuesday, Air India flight AI2379, that was on its way from Phuket, Thailand to Delhi, suddenly lost altitude mid-air, according to the airline. The flight, that had 137 passengers and 8 crew members, landed in Delhi at 5:37 AM GMT.

As per the statements made by the government, 8 passengers and 4 crew members were injured and taken to hospital for medical assistance. According to the airline, it has notified the required authorities regarding the incident and is cooperating with the investigation and has informed the aircraft manufacturer.
