CPI urges PM to review decision on hiking FDI cap
CPI, one of the parties providing outside support to UPA Government, today urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh that the decision on hiking the FDI cap in insurance and two other sectors should be reconsidered.
CPI Secretary D Raja, who spoke to the Prime Minister over phone, said the left parties have some strong reservations over hiking FDI in insurance, telecom and aviation sectors which the government should look into.
He also told the Prime Minister that he should meet leaders of trade unions on the issue of interest rates on employment provident funds.
Raja raised the issue of the demand in Assam over shifting of Assam Rifles headquarters from its present place, especially in the wake of the controversy surrounding the force.
