'Yeh Dil Maange More': How India is moving towards an indigenous defence shield

India is building a layered, indigenous air defence network, from counter-drone systems designed to tackle drone swarms to long-range missile programmes capable of intercepting threats hundreds of kilometres away. At Kargil Vijay Diwas, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh highlighted India's growing defence manufacturing capabilities and said the country will continue developing more advanced weapons, fighter aircraft, submarines and missiles domestically. DRDO’s Project Kusha and SDAL’s Bhargavastra represent two different layers of this emerging air defence architecture.
