It is the vision and perseverance of founding fathers that keep enterprises humming for generations and in this case the Kirloskars for more than a century, said Rama Kirloskar, joint managing director, Kirloskar Brothers.

She thanked “the four previous generations of Kirloskars for their vision, perseverance, and commitment that have kept our Kirloskar legacy alive for more than 135 years”, as she received the NextGen Business Leader (Female) award.

She won the award for her contribution to driving growth, operational excellence and capital efficiency at the Kirloskar Group. The jury selected Kirloskar for her leadership in portfolio rationalisation to expand margins, differentiation through specialised engineering solutions and focus on capital-efficient growth. A member of the 138-year-old Kirloskar business family, she has also been instrumental in making Kirloskar Ebara Pumps debt-free, reinforcing the company’s financial strength while laying the foundation for sustainable expansion.


Rama Kirloskar and Alisha Moopen of Aster DM Healthcare India won the NextGen Business Leader (Female) at The ET Family Business Awards. Accepting the award, Kirloskar also thanked her parents for believing in her and instilling values and a work ethic.
