Among the 11 sub-categories, small-cap funds received the highest inflow at Rs 7,767 crore, marking the highest-ever inflow in the category.
Midcap mutual funds received the second-highest inflows at Rs 6,192 crore, followed by flexicap funds, which received Rs 4,709 crore during the month. Large & midcap funds and multicap funds received inflows of Rs 3,425 crore and Rs 3,227 crore, respectively.
Four equity mutual fund categories recorded outflows in July. Largecap funds saw the highest outflow at Rs 1,321 crore, followed by ELSS funds at Rs 959 crore. Dividend-yield and value/contra funds also saw outflows of Rs 169 crore and Rs 144 crore, respectively.
On a monthly basis, small-cap funds recorded the highest increase in inflows at 39%, followed by multi-cap funds, which saw a 5% rise. Focused funds, meanwhile, saw a 43% decline in inflows.
Debt funds
Among the 16 sub-categories, seven recorded inflows. Liquid funds received the highest inflow at Rs 1.19 lakh crore, followed by overnight funds and money market funds, which received inflows of Rs 40,412 crore and Rs 21,180 crore, respectively.
Corporate bond funds recorded the highest outflow at Rs 784 crore, followed by long-duration funds, which saw an outflow of Rs 618 crore during the month.
Hybrid funds
Hybrid fund inflows declined 11% month-on-month to Rs 11,490 crore in July, from Rs 12,892 crore in June. On a year-on-year basis, inflows fell 45% from Rs 20,879 crore in July 2025.
Of the six hybrid fund categories, three recorded inflows, while the remaining three saw outflows. Arbitrage funds attracted the highest inflow at Rs 6,502 crore, followed by multi-asset allocation funds and aggressive hybrid funds, which received Rs 3,753 crore and Rs 1,986 crore, respectively.
On the outflow side, equity savings funds saw the highest outflow at Rs 477 crore, followed by dynamic asset allocation funds and conservative hybrid funds, which recorded outflows of Rs 252 crore and Rs 22 crore, respectively.
Other schemes
Other schemes, which include passive funds such as index funds and ETFs, saw inflows decline 25% month-on-month to Rs 12,517 crore in July, compared with Rs 16,724 crore in June.
Among the four sub-categories, other ETFs attracted the highest inflow at Rs 9,512 crore, followed by gold ETFs and index funds, which received Rs 1,558 crore and Rs 1,536 crore, respectively. Funds of funds investing overseas, meanwhile, recorded an outflow of Rs 90.39 crore.
The total assets under management (AUM) of the mutual fund industry rose 4% to Rs 85.59 lakh crore in July, from Rs 82.05 lakh crore in the previous month.
In July, nearly 25 new funds were launched, including two life-cycle funds, which together collected Rs 2,022 crore. Diversified equity funds contributed the highest amount at Rs 768 crore. Among individual funds, Choice Overnight Fund contributed Rs 367 crore to the total NFO collections during the month.
