These 12 equity mutual funds turned a Rs 1,000 monthly SIP into over Rs 1 crore.
These 12 funds belonged to seven categories: midcap, flexicap, ELSS, largecap, value, large & midcap, and multicap.
Nippon India Growth Mid Cap Fund (earlier known as Nippon India Growth Fund), launched in October 1995, turned a Rs 1,000 monthly SIP into Rs 2.86 crore with an XIRR of 22.19% since inception.

Franklin India Mid Cap Fund (earlier known as Franklin India Prima Fund) turned the same SIP into Rs 2.38 crore with an XIRR of 19.69% since its inception in December 1993.
Two funds from HDFC Mutual Fund—HDFC Flexi Cap Fund (earlier known as HDFC Equity Fund) and HDFC ELSS Tax Saver (earlier known as HDFC TaxSaver Fund)—turned a Rs 1,000 monthly SIP into Rs 2.25 crore and Rs 2.15 crore, respectively. The funds were launched in March 1996 and January 1995.
Franklin India Flexi Cap Fund (earlier known as Franklin India Equity Fund) turned the same SIP into Rs 1.67 crore with an XIRR of 18.85% since its inception in September 1994.
SBI ELSS Tax Saver Fund (erstwhile known as SBI Long Term Equity Fund) turned the same SIP into Rs 1.52 crore with an XIRR of 17.33% since March 1993. Franklin India Large Cap Fund (earlier known as Franklin India Bluechip Fund) turned the same SIP into Rs 1.38 crore with an XIRR of 17.30% since December 1993.
HDFC Value Fund, launched in February 1994, turned the same SIP into Rs 1.19 crore with an XIRR of 16.75%. The fund was earlier known as HDFC Capital Builder Value Fund.
Nippon India Vision Large & Mid Cap Fund is stated to have turned the SIP into Rs 1.09 crore.
ICICI Prudential Multicap Fund (erstwhile known as ICICI Prudential Top 200 Fund) turned a Rs 1,000 monthly SIP into Rs 1.13 crore with an XIRR of 17%. The fund was launched in October 1994.
SBI Large & Midcap Fund (earlier known as SBI Magnum Multiplier Fund), launched in February 1993, turned a Rs 1,000 monthly SIP into Rs 1.09 crore with an XIRR of 15.98%.
Tata Mid Cap Fund, launched in July 1994, was the last fund to turn a Rs 1,000 monthly SIP into more than Rs 1 crore. It generated a corpus of Rs 1.08 crore with an XIRR of 17.78% and was earlier known as Tata Mid Cap Growth Fund.

The remaining 292 funds turned the same investment into between Rs 1,007 and Rs 91.70 lakh since their respective inception.
We considered all equity funds excluding sectoral and thematic funds. We considered regular growth options and calculated SIP performance since each fund's inception.
