Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.38%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a positive note on Wednesday.

Shares of LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 1.37 per cent), MphasiS Ltd.(up 1.16 per cent), Wipro Ltd.(up 0.66 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.49 per cent) and Infosys Ltd.(up 0.43 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Persistent Systems Ltd.(down 0.34 per cent) and HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 0.02 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.


The Nifty IT index closed 0.38 per cent up at 32594.65.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 51.75 points at 19716.45, while the BSE Sensex stood up 173.22 points at 66118.69.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 ended in the green, while 19 closed in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, IFCI, YES Bank, JP Power and Ujjivan SFB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Bedmutha Ind, Mohit Inds, Shreyas Ship, Gravita India and Senco Gold hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vedanta, Madhusudan Masala, Chavda Infra, Nuvama Wealth Manage and Jiwanram Sheoduttrai hit their fresh 52-week lows.
