Stock market update: Nifty IT index 0.96% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded around 11:16AM(IST)on Tuesday in a weak market.

Infosys Ltd.(up 1.85 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 1.67 per cent), Persistent Systems Ltd.(up 1.12 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.05 per cent) and HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 0.6 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty IT index was 0.96 per cent at 44035.85 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 17.96 points at 24203.95, while the BSE Sensex was 67.17 points at 80042.68.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 were trading in the green, while 21 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Sagility India, Tata Teleservices and Ola Electric Mobilit were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of 3P Land Holdings, Pix Trans, Siyaram Silk, Sterling Tools and Aries Agro hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Adani Green, Adani Transmission, Astron Paper & Board, Dhanvarsha Finvest and Tree House Edu hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
