Stock market update: Nifty Auto index 0.26% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded around 10:27AM(IST)on Friday in an upbeat market.
Ashok Leyland Ltd.(up 1.86 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(up 1.22 per cent), Apollo Tyres Ltd.(up 1.08 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 1.03 per cent) and Exide Industries Ltd.(up 0.73 per cent) were among the top gainers.
TVS Motor Company Ltd.(down 0.75 per cent), MRF Ltd.(down 0.38 per cent), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 0.34 per cent) and Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 0.05 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was 0.26 per cent at 23206.40 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 170.65 points at 23520.55, while the BSE Sensex was 571.56 points at 77727.35.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 43 were trading in the green, while 7 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, YES Bank, SJVN and JP Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Ratnaveer Precision, Pix Trans, Aaron Industries, Banco Products and Jagsonpal Pharm hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Adani Transmission, Astron Paper & Board, Honasa Consumer, Eurotex Ind and Adani Ent. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
