Real estate likely to be iffy: Sangeeta Purushottam

In a chat with ET Now, Sangeeta Purushottam, Market Analyst, shares her views on the outlook of the real estate sector.

What is your sense on the real estate space?

I expect real estate to really have a run when we are almost in a raging bull market because that is when this sector will take off. Until then, it is going to be iffy. It will be up and down and it will be more of a trading sector. What worries me a little bit about this sector is the amount of the new paper which will get issued periodically. There are lots of real estate companies that are waiting in the sidelines for their IPOs. It is going to be a lot of paper coming in and over a period, individual stocks will start standing out. So, companies that have better disclosures and better corporate governance will attract investment and other stocks may just fall by the way side.
