India’s 3,040 richest individuals hold Rs 104 lakh crore in wealth, nearly 30% of nominal GDP, highlighting growing wealth concentration. The latest report also shows rising participation from young entrepreneurs, women and first-generation founde...

The 360 ONE Wealth Creators List 2026, prepared with Crisil Intelligence, studied a Rs 330 lakh crore wealth base across listed and unlisted holdings. The final list includes 3,040 individuals with wealth above Rs 425 crore each. Together, their combined individual net worth stands at Rs 104 lakh crore, or about 1.2 times the size of India’s mutual fund industry.
India is creating wealth at speed, but the top end still holds most of it. The top 10 individuals alone account for about Rs 19.72 lakh crore, or 19% of the total wealth on the list. The top 100 hold about 46%, while the bottom half of the list, or 1,520 individuals, accounts for only 9%.
The report also shows that India’s rich list is changing in character. It is still led by old business families, industrial groups and Mumbai wealth. But it now has more women, more young founders, more first-generation entrepreneurs and more wealth coming from smaller cities.
Among the 3,040 wealth creators, the top 10 account for nearly one-fifth of total list wealth. The Ambani heirs -- Anant, Isha and Akash -- hold the top three positions in the 2026 list, each with wealth of more than Rs 2.75 lakh crore.
The list also captures a larger family wealth story. India's top 100 families have a combined net worth of Rs 76.5 lakh crore. The top three families are Gautam Adani and family, Mukesh Ambani and family and Sunil Bharti Mittal and family.
The report says India now has 12 business families with wealth of more than Rs 1 lakh crore each. This club includes Adani, Ambani, Mittal, Shanghvi, Mistry, Nadar, Jindal, Damani, Birla, Agarwal, Premji and Mehta.
Under-40 creators rise
The list includes 285 wealth creators below the age of 40. They hold Rs 14.5 lakh crore, or about 14% of total list wealth. Their average wealth is Rs 5,094 crore each. The under-40 group includes 134 first-generation entrepreneurs, 149 inter-generational entrepreneurs and two investors. Women account for 51 of the under-40 creators.
The report says India now has founders such as Zepto’s Kaivalya Vohra and Aadit Palicha under 25, showing how quickly wealth creation timelines have compressed. Businesses that once took a generation to build are now creating large fortunes in less than a decade.
New-economy wealth creators are also younger. Their median age is 48, compared with 60 for old-economy creators. Still, older wealth remains dominant. The 60-80 age group has 1,028 individuals holding Rs 45.36 lakh crore, or 43.7% of total list wealth. People aged 60 and above together hold Rs 53.07 lakh crore, or 51.1% of total individual list wealth.
Women now account for 24% of wealth creators on the list. There are 738 women, up from 559 last year. Together, they hold 23% of total wealth, or Rs 22.6 trillion. Their average holding is Rs 3,184 crore, compared with Rs 3,486 crore for men. But women under 40 have the highest average wealth among all female age groups, at Rs 6,542 crore.
The report names Roshni Nadar Malhotra, Rekha Jhunjhunwala, Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Savitri Jindal and Manju Gupta as examples of women wealth creators across technology, investing, pharma and traditional business houses.
