GIFT Nifty (Earlier SGX Nifty) signals a positive start
GIFT Nifty on the NSE IX traded higher by 128 points, or 0.52 per cent, at 24,707, signaling that Dalal Street was headed for a positive start on Wednesday.
Tech View: The short-term trend is likely to remain sideways to positive as long as the index holds above 24,400. A decisive break below this level could trigger a deeper correction. On the downside, support is placed at 24,400 and 24,200, while on the upside, immediate resistance continues to remain at 24,800.
India VIX: India VIX, which is a measure of the fear in the markets, rose 2% to settle at 12.19 levels.

US stocks end higher
The S&P 500 and the Dow closed at record highs on Tuesday, powered by the latest batch of earnings from AI-related companies such as Caterpillar and Palantir that assuaged demand concerns, while crude prices and Treasury yields dropped on hopes for a deal in the Iran war.
Asian shares gain
Asian stocks tracked Wall Street higher after optimism over a possible interim deal between Washington and Tehran eased concerns about energy supplies. Oil extended its losses.

- Hang Seng futures rose 0.3%
- Japan’s Topix rose 1.5%
- Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 rose 0.2%

Oil steadies
Oil steadied on Wednesday after steep falls in the previous two trading sessions, as investors waited to see if efforts to end the U.S.-Iran war and restore traffic through the blockaded Strait of Hormuz were making progress.
Gold rises
Gold inched up on Wednesday, aided by a softer dollar, while market participants strapped in for upcoming key U.S. jobs data for cues on the U.S. Federal Reserve's next monetary policy move.
Stocks in F&O ban today
LIC
Securities in the ban period under the F&O segment include companies in which the security has crossed 95% of the market-wide position limit.
FII/DII action
Foreign portfolio investors net bought shares worth Rs 2,446 crore on Tuesday. DIIs, meanwhile, were net sellers at Rs 936 crore.
Rupee
The rupee appreciated 9 paise to close at 95.28 against the US dollar on Tuesday as foreign capital inflows amid signs of easing geopolitical tensions in West Asia boosted investor sentiment.
