Hero MotoCorp Q1 profit surges 29% to Rs 1,454 crore

Shares of Hero MotoCorp jumped over 3% on Friday after the two-wheeler major reported a 29% year-on-year increase in standalone net profit to Rs 1,454 crore for the first quarter of the ongoing FY27.

Hero MotoCorp shares jumped to Rs 5,739 apiece on Friday morning. The company on Thursday reported a 36% YoY increase in revenue from operations to Rs 12,999 crore in Q1 FY27, from Rs 9,579 crore reported in the year-ago period.

Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) stood at Rs 1,727 crore, while EBITDA margin was reported at 13.3% for Q1 FY27, against Bloomberg estimates of 13%. The company sold 16.77 lakh motorcycles and scooters, registering 23% YoY growth over the corresponding quarter of the previous year, which underscores sustained consumer demand across markets.


Hero MotoCorp began FY27 with strong momentum, delivering broad-based growth across its premium, electric mobility, commuter segments and global business, said the company’s CEO Harshavardhan Chitale. He added that this performance reflects the strength and diversity of the company’s portfolio, disciplined execution across the organisation, and relentless focus on delivering superior value to its customers.

"Our growth strategy is centred on building a future-ready mobility company by accelerating premiumisation, scaling our electric mobility business, expanding our global footprint while retaining our leadership in the commuter segment. Supported by continued investments in technology, innovation, manufacturing, and enhanced customer experience, we remain well positioned to deliver sustainable and profitable growth," the CEO added.

Motilal Oswal on Hero MotoCorp share price

Motilal Oswal Financial Services noted that the company’s strong margin performance drove the earnings beat. The company’s revenue growth of nearly 36%, EBITDA, EBITDA margin and profit beat the domestic brokerage’s estimates.

It, however, noted that gross margins contracted 480 bps YoY to 28.5%, below the estimated 30.9%. The domestic brokerage, however, maintains a 'Buy' call on the shares of Hero MotoCorp.

Hero MotoCorp shares have gained more than 6% in a week and 14% in a month, but overall have fallen around 2% in 2026 so far.

In the longer term, the shares of the two-wheeler major have delivered 28% returns over a year, 94% over three years and 102% over five years. The company has a market capitalisation of more than Rs 1.14 lakh crore.
