Adani Group firm Adani Ports and Special Economic Zones (APSEZ) on Wednesday reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 3,620 crore for the first quarter of FY27, marking a 9% year-on-year (YoY) rise from Rs 3,315 crore in the same quarter last year.

The profit attributable to equity holders of the company stood at Rs 3,620 crore.

Following the earnings announcement, shares of the company dipped 3% to Rs 1,720 on the BSE.


The company’s revenue from operations came in at Rs 10,821 crore, a growth of 18.5% from Rs 9,126 crore posted in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year, Adani Ports said in a regulatory filing.

For the quarter under review, Adani Ports recorded an EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization) of Rs 6,540 crore, rising 19% YoY compared with Rs 5,495 crore in the year-ago period. EBITDA margin stood at 60.4%, slightly higher than 60.2% in the corresponding quarter last year.

Adani Ports' international ports business delivered strong growth, with revenue rising 80% YoY to Rs 1,747 crore and EBITDA rocketing 256% to Rs 730 crore. The growth was led by strong performance in Australia and Colombo, reflecting the increasing maturity of APSEZ's overseas portfolio.

Marine revenue increased 67% YoY to Rs 901 crore, supported by continued additions to the offshore vessel fleet and expansion of its European subsea operations, Adani Ports’ investor presentation showed.

Revenue from domestic ports grew 12% YoY, driven by higher cargo volumes, a better product mix and improved realisations. EBITDA margin for the domestic ports business stood at a best-in-class 74%.

Adani Ports FY27 guidance
For FY27, Adani Ports has guided for revenue of Rs 43,000 crore to Rs 45,000 crore and EBITDA of Rs 25,000 crore to Rs 26,000 crore. In Q1 FY27, the company reported revenue of Rs 10,821 crore and EBITDA of Rs 6,541 crore.

On leverage, the company has guided for net debt to EBITDA of up to 2.5x for FY27. At the end of Q1 FY27, the ratio stood at 1.9x.

Ashwani Gupta, Whole-time Director and CEO of Adani Ports, said that the company's Q1 FY27 performance highlighted the strength of its diversified business model, supported by a global presence and a multi-modal asset base spread across geographies, commodities and customers.

He said the domestic ports business continued to deliver strong growth and remained the core contributor to APSEZ's earnings. Meanwhile, the International Ports, Marine and Logistics businesses have moved from the scale-up phase to a focus on scale and value, emerging as increasingly important drivers of revenue growth and profitability.

Gupta said the balanced growth across businesses strengthens the company's confidence in achieving its Ambition 2031 targets. With its domestic capacity expansion programme targeting 1,000 MMT by 2030, an expanding international portfolio and a rapidly growing logistics ecosystem, APSEZ is building a more diversified, resilient and globally relevant transport platform aimed at creating long-term value.
