Sugar, jeera prices surge
NCDEX registered a turnover of Rs 2,238 crore on Thursday. Sugar and Jeera hit upper circuit while the edible oil complex was also firm.
Soyabean closed up at Rs 1,616 and posted a turnover of Rs 183 crore. Soya oil closed at Rs 482.5 per 10 kg and posted a turnover of Rs 171 crore. Rape mustard seed closed up at Rs 457.85 per 20 kg and posted a turnover of Rs 231 crore.
Pepper closed down at Rs 12,052 per quintal and registered a turnover of Rs 217 crore.
Guar seed closed down at Rs 1,723 per quintal and posted a turnover of Rs 476 crore. Chana closed up at Rs 2,238 per quintal and posted a turnover of Rs 233 crore.
MCX registered a turnover of Rs 4,447.74 crore in the first session up to 5 pm, down 7% from that in the corresponding session of the previous day. Bullion turnover was Rs 2,076.85 crore. Gold contracts, including gold mini, fell up to Rs 39 and gained up to Rs 4 per 10 gm. October gold rose 0.04% to Rs 9,400 per 10 gm. Silver contracts, including silver mini, fell up to Rs 171 and gained up to Rs 113 per kg. December silver rose 0.63% to Rs 17,922 per kg.
In the base metals segment, copper contracts turnover was Rs 627.58 crore. November copper fell 0.35% at Rs 313.5 per kg. Turnover of all zinc contracts was Rs 515.53 crore. September zinc fell 0.96% at Rs 119.05 per kg. Turnover of all nickel contracts was Rs 326.62 crore and lead contracts was Rs 373.93 crore.
