Global food prices fell to a near five-year low in February 2015 on increased supply of key food items and a stronger US dollar. The Food Price Index (FPI), which is a trade-weighted index, tracks prices of five major food commodity groups in international markets. It aggregates price sub-indices of cereals, meat, dairy products, vegetable oils and sugar.
