NABARD to temporarily suspend Bhavishya Nirman bond sale
National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) said it will temporarily suspend sale of Bhavishya Nirman bonds from December 31.
These ten-year zero coupon bonds were being issued since February 2007. The bonds are not subject to TDS but the income is treated as capital gains at the time of maturity and taxed accordingly.
NABARD, in a release here, said it would resume sale of the bonds in the second or third week of next month.
