Who is Sargam Vaish? Vocalist claims Sidharth Malhotra, Tamannaah Bhatia’s Vvaan makers of using his 'Aigiri Nandini' song without permission

Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia’s upcoming film The Vvaan - Force Of The Forrest has run into controversy days before its theatrical release on September 25. Vocalist and composer Sargam Vaish has allegedly accused the makers of using his version of the devotional song Aigiri Nandini in the film’s trailer without taking his permission. The singer has now asked the team to look into the matter and remove his music from the trailer.

Sargam Vaish claims his song was used without consent

Sargam Vaish raised the issue on Instagram on Sunday. According to the vocalist, his version of Aigiri Nandini, which he says he has been working on for nearly three years, can be heard in The Vvaan – Force Of The Forrest trailer.

Sargam pointed viewers towards a portion of the trailer between the 1:08 and 1:30 marks, where he believes his version of the song has been used. He also shared a video to demonstrate the similarities and draw attention to the alleged use of his work.

In his Instagram post, Sargam said, "THE VVAAN – Official Trailer” and noticed that my original song has been used in it without my permission or consent. I have not given permission for my music to be used in the trailer or for its promotion. This is very important to me because I have already signed this work with a major music label, and this unauthorized use could affect my existing contract."

The vocalist said this was particularly important because the alleged unauthorised use could have an impact on his existing agreement with the label. He maintained that artists should have control over how and where their work is used.

Sargam also appealed to the makers to remove his music from the trailer and contact him directly. At the same time, he left room for clarification, saying that if the team had obtained a valid licence or permission to use the track, he wanted to be given the relevant details.

What did Sargam Vaish say about ‘Aigiri Nandini’?

While raising the allegation, Sargam stressed the importance of respecting independent artists and their work. He said, "I believe every artist deserves to have their work respected. No artist’s work should be used without their permission. I kindly request the concerned team to please remove my music and contact me directly. If there is any valid permission or license for its use, I would appreciate being provided the details.”

He also took the matter to social media because, according to him, he wanted the issue to reach the people who could help resolve it. He requested his followers to share his post and help him connect with the relevant members of the film team.

At present, the allegation has been made by Sargam Vaish, and his Instagram post forms the basis of the claims. Any response from the makers of The Vvaan – Force Of The Forrest regarding the alleged use of the song or the licensing of the music would provide further clarity on the matter.

The controversy comes at a time when the film is preparing for its theatrical release and its trailer is being widely discussed online.

What is The Vvaan – Force Of The Forrest about?

Presented by Balaji Motion Pictures, a division of Balaji Telefilms, in association with TVF and 11.11 Production, The Vvaan – Force Of The Forrest stars Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia in the lead roles. Shweta Tiwari, Maniesh Paul and Anup Soni are also part of the cast.

The film has been directed by Deepak Mishra, while Arunabh Kumar has written the story. Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Arunabh Kumar and Niraj Kothari have produced the project.



The trailer introduces Sidharth’s character as a practical, city-bred man who travels to his ancestral village for work connected to his family’s land. Unlike the villagers, he does not immediately believe the stories surrounding a mysterious forest.

The forest is considered sacred by the villagers, who follow strict rules around it. The area is also connected to the Vvaan Devi temple and is reportedly off-limits after sunset.

The film also explores a conflict between development and local traditions. A proposal involving the cutting of trees near the temple becomes a major point of disagreement, with the villagers opposing the move.
