Salman Khan remembers difficult days inside jail

Salman Khan made a candid revelation about his time in jail during his appearance on the reality show Alliance, where he entered the house to support his brother Sohail Khan. While interacting with contestants, the actor spoke about the difficult conditions inside the prison and recalled how dozens of inmates had to share a single bathroom in a cramped space.

His comments came during an emotional interaction in the latest promo of the Prime Video reality series, where Salman opened up about an experience he has rarely spoken about in such detail.

Salman Khan recalls his time behind bars

Speaking to the contestants, Salman described the conditions he witnessed during his jail stay. He said, **“Bohot saalon pehle jab jail gaya tha toh we had bars infront of us. In such a small area, there are 50-60-70 people there… one bathroom, Indian-style commode, kabhi chhipkali hain and more than that *t is filled all the way till here.”

The actor's remarks left the contestants emotional, with the promo showing a silent house as they listened to him describe the overcrowded prison environment.

Salman has spent around 18 days in jail across different periods in connection with the 1998 blackbuck and chinkara poaching cases. Over the years, he has been sent to jail or judicial custody on four occasions before securing bail.

Earlier too Salman had spoken about prison life

This is not the first time Salman has spoken about his jail experience. During a 2008 episode of On the Couch with Koel, he admitted that the bathroom was the toughest part of his stay.

He had said, “I was blank. I was chilling. The only tension was the bathroom. That was it. And, the bin, and three, four times I have gone in and out of it. If someone wants to put you in, you go in quietly. When you know you haven’t done it, you go in head high.”

Earlier this year as well, while speaking on his nephew Arhaan Khan's podcast Dumb Biryani, Salman briefly mentioned jail while talking about discipline and dealing with situations beyond one's control.

He said, “I sleep for an hour and a half or two hours, and then someday, once a month, I sleep for seven hours. Somedays, I'll get a five-minute break between shots, so I'll sleep on the chair. In places where I cannot do anything, like when I was in jail, I slept. I couldn't do anything about it... When it comes to your work or family, the effort that you have to keep on putting in... you just need to be there for friends and family and work.”

Salman enters Alliance to support Sohail Khan

Salman's appearance comes at a crucial stage of Alliance, where Sohail Khan has had an emotional journey inside the house. In earlier episodes, Sohail opened up about being sexually harassed as a child and revealed that he carried the trauma for years before finally telling his father as an adult.

More recently, Sohail also found himself at the centre of house tensions after disagreements with fellow contestants and an outburst that briefly led to him being removed from the headquarters. Salman, who entered the house saying, “Don’t worry, I am not here to host,” also interacted with the contestants, addressed a few ongoing issues in the game and lightened the mood with his trademark humour.

Hosted by Kunal Kemmu, Alliance streams on Amazon Prime Video and features celebrities from television, films, digital content and sports competing in physical and strategic challenges while forming and breaking alliances to stay in the game. The reality show is now heading towards its grand finale.
