A rather unusual business proposition has apparently found its way to the top brass of one of India’s biggest corporate houses. The pitch: turn India’s abundant supply of natural human hair into a sizeable export business. It may sound like a hairy idea, but we hear the proposal was serious enough to get a proper hearing. Which makes one wonder what a sprawling, diversified business group sees in a trade built, quite literally, around strands. Whether anything comes of it remains to be seen. For now, suffice it to say that someone has spotted value where most of us see just hair.
