Marvel Cinematic Universe's latest movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, released in India a day ahead of its highly anticipated US debut, and the strategy appears to have paid off. The superhero film opened to a massive Rs 72.44 crore gross at the Indian box office without the support of block bookings or preview shows. It has continued its dream run over the weekend, crossing the Rs 200 crore mark in India within just three days of release.

Spider-Man Brand New Day box office day-wise

According to early estimates by Sacnilk.com, Spider-Man: Brand New Day collected an impressive Rs 66.75 crore net on its third day across 17,703 shows. With this, the film's total India net collection has climbed to Rs 176.70 crore, while its India gross now stands at Rs 211.27 crore.

The film's original English version remained the biggest contributor to its Day 3 earnings. It reportedly collected Rs 38.35 crore from 8,075 shows and registered an occupancy of around 64%, according to trade data. The strong performance reflects the popularity of the Marvel Cinematic Universe among English-language moviegoers in India.

The Hindi dubbed version also continued to attract large crowds, emerging as the strongest-performing dubbed language. It earned Rs 21.75 crore across 7,311 shows and recorded an impressive 97% occupancy, indicating packed theatres in several markets.

Among the southern dubbed versions, the Tamil release added Rs 3.75 crore to the film's tally, while the Telugu version earned Rs 2.75 crore. The Malayalam and Kannada versions contributed Rs 8 lakh and Rs 7 lakh, respectively, helping the film maintain a solid presence across multiple languages.

The box office numbers become even more significant considering the film's record-breaking opening. Spider-Man: Brand New Day had collected Rs 72.44 crore gross on its first day in India despite having no preview shows or block bookings. The film was also released in India a day before its US premiere, a move that appears to have generated tremendous excitement among fans and translated into exceptional ticket sales.

Trade reports suggest the superhero film has also outperformed the opening-day grosses of several recent Indian blockbusters. Its Day 1 collection surpassed the reported opening gross of Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan, which earned Rs 67 crore gross, and also edged past Kantara: Chapter 1, which reportedly opened with around Rs 73 crore gross. The achievement highlights the massive popularity of the Spider-Man franchise in the Indian market.
