August is shaping up to be a packed month for OTT viewers, with streaming platforms bringing a mix of highly anticipated films and returning series across genres. From romantic dramas and courtroom stories to war sagas, sports comedies and sci-fi thrillers, there's something for every kind of viewer. Whether you missed some of the biggest theatrical releases or have been waiting for the return of fan-favourite shows, here's a look at the latest movies and web series arriving on Netflix, Apple TV+, ZEE5 and other platforms this month.

Ted Lasso Season 4 (Apple TV+)
Ted Lasso returns after a three-year gap with its fourth season on August 5. The new season takes the story in a fresh direction as Jason Sudeikis' Ted Lasso steps away from AFC Richmond's men's team to coach the Lady Greyhounds, a second-division women's football club. The season also brings back familiar faces including Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt and Jeremy Swift, while introducing several new characters. The latest instalment promises another emotional and uplifting journey with 12 episodes.

My Life with the Walter Boys Season 3 (Netflix)
The teen romance returns to Netflix on August 6 with its third season. Picking up directly after the dramatic Season 2 finale, Jackie finds herself dealing with the consequences of her relationship with Alex and Cole. While Alex focuses on rodeo riding and Cole explores a career in racing, Jackie begins a new community project. The season continues the love triangle while introducing new twists, and consists of 10 episodes.


Prahaar: The Ujjwal Nikam Story (JioHotstar)
Rajkummar Rao headlines the legal biographical drama Prahaar: The Ujjwal Nikam Story, which premieres on August 7. The film traces the career of renowned public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam, revisiting several of India's most significant criminal trials, including cases linked to the 1993 Bombay bomb blasts and the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks.

Main Vaapas Aaunga (Netflix)
Directed by Imtiaz Ali, Main Vaapas Aaunga begins streaming on Netflix on August 7 after emerging as one of the biggest sleeper hits of 2026. Starring Diljit Dosanjh, Naseeruddin Shah, Vedang Raina and Sharvari, the film tells a moving story of love separated by the Partition of India in 1947. The emotional drama unfolds through memories shared across generations, with music composed by A.R. Rahman.

Operation Safed Sagar (Netflix)
Another major release on August 7 is Operation Safed Sagar. The war drama series is based on the Indian Air Force's historic air campaign during the 1999 Kargil War. Featuring Jimmy Shergill, Siddharth, Abhay Verma, Mihir Ahuja, Dia Mirza, Prajakta Koli and Adil Hussain, the series recreates one of the highest-altitude military operations ever conducted. The first season comprises eight episodes.

Lenin (ZEE5)
After a successful theatrical run, Akhil Akkineni's Lenin arrives on ZEE5 on August 7. Directed by Murali Kishore, the romantic action drama stars Bhagyashree Bose opposite Akhil, along with Pramod Panju, Sivaji, Brahmaji, Sunil, Easwari Rao and Shatru. Along with Telugu, the film will also stream in Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada, giving it a wider digital release across South India.

Cocktail 2 (Netflix)
Shahid Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and Kriti Sanon's romantic drama Cocktail 2 will make its OTT debut on Netflix on August 14. Directed by Homi Adajania, the film enjoyed a successful run in cinemas after its June release and emerged as one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of 2026.

Dark Matter Season 2 (Apple TV+)
Sci-fi fans can look forward to Dark Matter Season 2, which premieres on Apple TV+ on August 28. Starring Joel Edgerton and Jennifer Connelly, the new season moves beyond Blake Crouch's bestselling novel and introduces an entirely original storyline created by the author himself. The 10-episode season follows Jason Dessen and his family as they continue navigating dangerous alternate realities while searching for a safe future.
