A Rs 15,000 monthly internship turned into a Rs 25 LPA offer in just 2.5 years, giving one techie a remarkable career trajectory. His journey began with a modest internship before his salary climbed steadily through full-time roles and competing offers. While celebrating her former classmate’s success, techie Rutuja also found herself reflecting on her own career choices. His rapid growth, she admitted, made her wonder whether continuing with coding could have led her down a similar path.

From Rs 15k internship to Rs 25 LPA in 2.5 years

Techie Rutuja recently took to X to share the career journey of one of her classmates, whose salary has grown dramatically in around 2.5 years. According to Rutuja, he began his career with an internship paying just Rs 15,000 a month. After six months, he secured a full-time role with a salary of Rs 7 LPA. His compensation increased to Rs 9 LPA after another year, marking the beginning of a much faster phase of his career.

How his salary jumped from Rs 9 LPA to Rs 25 LPA

The techie soon received an offer from another company worth Rs 14 LPA. His existing employer attempted to retain him by matching the offer. However, his career progression did not stop there. He recently received a Rs 25 LPA offer from a Singapore-based company. His current employer once again tried to retain him, this time offering Rs 23 LPA.

Despite the counteroffer, he chose to move to the new opportunity. In just around 2.5 years, his journey had gone from a Rs 15,000 monthly internship to a Rs 25 LPA offer.

Rutuja says he truly deserves the success

She had witnessed his dedication since their college days, making his rapid career growth particularly satisfying for her to see. At the same time, his journey prompted some personal reflection. ‘If I had continued coding, would I be there too?’

Rather than treating her classmate’s success simply as a salary story, Rutuja turned it into a reflection on career choices and comparison. She acknowledged that she knows she should not compare herself with someone else because everyone follows a different path.

Yet, watching classmates progress can naturally make people question their own decisions and wonder about the opportunities they might have missed. Despite those thoughts, Rutuja ended her post on a positive note, congratulating her classmate and wishing him well for his new journey.
