Hanuman Ansh OTT release update: When will Neem Karoli Baba's biopic stream? Makers share the real reason behind the delay

The surprise blockbuster of 2026 Hanuman Ansh has crossed the Rs 300 crore mark worldwide, but audiences waiting to watch the Neem Karoli Baba biopic on OTT will have to wait a little longer. Despite receiving multiple streaming offers, the makers have not finalised a digital deal or announced an OTT release date.

The film, which was reportedly made on a budget of around Rs 2 crore, continues to remain in theatres instead of following the usual path of moving to streaming a few weeks after release. Producer Ragini Sona has now shared an update on what is holding back the OTT announcement.

Hanuman Ansh OTT release update

As of now, Hanuman Ansh does not have a confirmed OTT platform or streaming date.


Speaking to SCREEN, Sona said that the makers are receiving offers from streaming platforms but are not ready to close the deal immediately. “We are receiving offers, but the 100-crore offer is definitely not there. We will definitely very soon announce our OTT deal but not immediately,” she said.

Sona also indicated that the decision is linked to director Vishal Chaturvedi's preference to continue the film's theatrical run for some more time.

“I will respect his decision because he is still saying that he will wait for some more time,” she said.

Why the makers are delaying the OTT release

According to Sona, the team wants audiences to experience Hanuman Ansh in cinemas for as long as possible. She believes the film's impact depends significantly on the theatrical setting.

“This is a film which can only be watched in theatres. Not only in theatres, but it is best to watch in theatres,” Sona told SCREEN.

She explained that watching the film at home can come with distractions, while the theatrical environment allows viewers to remain focused on the story and its spiritual moments.

“This movie is something that people cannot take their eyes off the screen,” she said.

Sona also described audience reactions after screenings, saying that some viewers remain seated through the end credits with their hands joined. She recalled instances where people had taken off their slippers while watching the film.

Rs 100 crore OTT deal claim denied

The strong theatrical performance of Hanuman Ansh has also led to speculation about the value of its eventual digital rights.

Reports had claimed that the film had received a Rs 100 crore OTT offer. Sona, however, directly rejected that figure while confirming that streaming platforms have approached the makers.

“We are receiving offers, but the 100-crore offer is definitely not there,” she said.

The film's reported Rs 2 crore production budget and more than Rs 300 crore worldwide box office have nevertheless made its digital deal a closely watched development.

The makers have not ruled out an OTT release. Instead, their current focus is on extending the film's theatrical journey before taking it to streaming.

Sona acknowledged that the film will eventually come to OTT, but said the team is currently considering how long it can remain in cinemas.

Hanuman Ansh, directed by Chaturvedi and starring Shobhinaw Satyaa, follows the spiritual journey of Lakshminarayan Sharma, who sets out in search of Lord Ram after his mother's death and eventually becomes Neem Karoli Baba. The film is based on Chaturvedi's book Divine Detour: That Changed My Life and is planned as the first part of a trilogy.
