Then a glimpse into his Parsi bungalow, in Dahanu, on the outskirts of Mumbai would remove your doubts. According to media reports, the spacious bungalow holds a special place in his heart as it once belonged to his family friends who would invite them for Diwali parties every year. When their family moved to Dubai, Sarbh’s father bought the house from them to keep the festive tradition alive.

A heritage bungalow with timeless character

In a video for Asian Paints Where the Heart Is, Jim Sarbh opened the doors of his house offering fans a peek into his luxe abode. Surrounded by a lush garden, Sarbh’s home is replete with pronounced arches, expansive courtyards, open rooms, and stunning balconies delivering picturesque views of the sea.

A large patio features white and blue chairs coupled with a fancy swing for ultimate relaxation. A walk up to the magnificent staircase leads to Jim's bedroom that is attached with a large outdoor swimming pool. Every corner of the home is filled with a memory through photographs and every tree has a tale, which has been well-preserved by Jim and his family.

Where architecture blends seamlessly with nature

White walls outside and Parsi woodwork inside offer a striking contrast as well as a soothing and calming atmosphere. Curved arches snaking through the house feels like walking through a timeless retreat while towering pillars flanking the property lend it an unmistakable sense of grandeur. Another unique feature are the wooden shutter windows that add warmth and texture.

The living room opens on 3 sides so the sea breeze and sunlight flows through the glass walls. Architects have a name for this particular architectural style - indoor-outdoor living. It means designing a home in a way so that the land and the house blends together into one. According to Jim Sarbh, ‘It is a home for people, not just for one person.’ A large mud patch behind the house is where Sarbh loves to run on and spend his evening looking at sunsets.

Jim Sarbh is known for films like Neerja, Padmaavat and Gangubai Kathiawadi. He was also seen as the lead in the SonyLIV series Rocket Boys and Prime Video’s Made in India: A Titan Story.
