Suriya and Jyotika recently appeared on The Hollywood Reporter’s interview where the couple shared their fitness and dietary regimen. Interestingly, their well-being guide also has a special connection to legendary Malayalam actor Mammootty.
Suriya-Jyotika’s wellness practises
When asked about what comprises inside either of their wellness kits, Jyotika revealed that she carries gloves, a water bottle and a deodorant spray inside her gym bag at all times. Suriya chimed in stating that his wife has also advised the actor to keep a water bottle with him as well as a pair of jogging shoes as he likes to walk and jog at a minimal incline. Suriya shared that he also carries his own supplements.
As for their workout routine, Jyotika admitted that she is a morning person and usually begins her day by eating an apple before hitting the gym. Her core exercises include lifting weights and physical strength training. ‘I work out four to five times a week,’ she said. On the other hand, Suriya devotes his time into functional strength training and pull-ups. Since he had previously suffered from a back injury, the actor avoids heavy weightlifting or powerlifting and instead works on his flexibility.
Suriya-Jyotika share wellness advice
Meanwhile, Suriya disclosed that it was Mammootty who once gave him a million-dollar advice on overall wellness. As per the Malayalam star, an individual can eat everything they love but in small proportions, indicating that portion control is the key to a balanced lifestyle. ‘Eat all that I like, but not in the amount that I would like,’ were Mammootty’s exact words, recalled Suriya. The star also urged Suriya never to compromise on 8 to 9 hours of sleep.
